The UP Law Class of 1999 held a special exhibition and online auction of artworks to raise funds in time for this year’s UP College of Law Homecoming. Themed “UP: Walang Sawang Pasasalamat,” the exhibition and auction ran from September 29 to October 13, 2024. The art pieces created by emerging artists depicted familiar scenes of life at the UP campus and were exhibited at The Good Art Gallery in Diliman, Quezon City. The collection also featured the works of Master Artists that were offered for sale below market value to support the fundraising efforts of the Silver Jubilarians of UP Law.
To bid for the artworks in the collection, the 1999 Class developed an online app that allowed bidders to view the collection and to bid anonymously on the artworks of their choice. Winning bidders were notified by the organizers via email and given instructions for payment and delivery of the artworks sold to them.
Proceeds of the auction will be given to the UP College of Law to support the upgrading of its facilities. The improvement of the College’s facilities is expected to make learning more conducive for future generations of law students.
